I was fortunate to be one of the roster of bloggers to be invited to cover Uno Magazine's Colt 45 Beer Angels Exposed event held at the Outback Steakhouse in Glorietta 4 last December 18 and it was an opportunity I won't miss. However, the shindig was scheduled at 5pm which means that I need to get off early at work to make it on time. Since I get off work at 5pm I had all my day's deliverables squared away and asked my boss for permission to pack up at 4pm. Fortunately my boss supports my avocation as a blogger and only had one question---"Anong klaseng magazine ba ang UNO?"
Hmmm...trick question ba ito? My first thought was to answer MEN'S MAGAZINE---but then, I think this is too strong a description for Uno given the proliferation of other magazines that also fall under that category. So I just replied, "TAMEr version po ng FHM."
I arived at the venue at exactly 5pm. There were only a handful of people there and most were part of the organizing committee led by the very friendly Rox. Apparently, she was the one who answered my invite request in FB. Rox was very welcoming and I immediately felt at home---"Thanks Rox!".
Outback's function room was cramped for a seating capacity of 40 guests making it a very intimate event. Having arrived early, I had a front side seat and a really good vantage point to take close shots without shifting to my long lens.
The event featured Colt 45's Beer Angels---Bella Padilla, Denise Laurel, and Cesca Litton. Unfortunately, only Cesca and Denise were able to make it as Bella was still tied up with another commitment. But hey, two angels are better than none, right?

The event went underway around 6:30pm with the two gorgeous ladies joined by Uno Magazine's Editor-in-Chief RJ Ledesma, 5 Leaf Publishing Managing Director Maane Ilustre, and a Colt 45 Marketing representative Mr. Greg for the Q and A portion.
According to Mr. Ledesma, "SMART is the new SEXY" and true to these words, the girls showed their eloquence and grace as they answered the questions thrown at them.
Mr. Ledesma also answered my boss' question that I couldn't quite give a convincing answer to. First of, Uno is a Filipino magazine brand. That in itself makes this magazine a cut above the rest. It is not a Filipinized international brand but is totally Filipino in terms of content, humor, and sentiment. In other words, this is the men's magazine that the average Pinoy man can relate to. But the magazine's content not only cater to testosterone stimulating articles (not to mention images) but other pertinent issues as finance, business, food, technology and travel fit for the Pinoy reader and budget.
The Q & A was followed by a picture taking with Denise and Cesca and the autograph signing.
As part of the perks of this event, Colt 45 beer and Virgin Colas flowed endlessly plus a dinner plate c/o Outback. Nothing like free grub and bottomless drink to cap off a fun night with fellow bloggers!
